At the Border Collie Nationals in St. Louis, MO on October 2001 our Wonder Boy Jeffy earned his first HX (Advanced Herding) leg. Then he finished his MXJ (Master Excellent Jumpers) title. A few hours later he competed in the breed and earned Best of Opposite Sex Award. (For you non doggie types, Best of Breed is the top dog of the day.) Then they select the best of the opposite sex of that winner. (So basically he was selected the best male at that show). A HUGE honor.
This photo was taken on August 22, 1999 when Jeffy finished his Championship in the breed ring! He was 2 years old and not nearly mature. It's interesting to look back at this picture and see how different he looks now! The judge's name is Leslie Earl.
